“There is a saying in Tibetan:
'Tragedy should be utilized as a source of strength.' No matter what sort of difficulties, how painful experience is, if we lose our hope, that's our real disaster.”

Approach to Clinical Services
Dr. Jaquess's main approach to treatment is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which analyzes thoughts, feelings and behaviors, which work together to create difficulties--or solutions. Sessions involve talking through problems, learning ways to make improvement, and planning ways to try techniques out at home. Additional approaches may include family therapy and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA; especially young children or people with developmental delays).
Appointments are scheduled for 30 - 90 minutes, and many clients complete their work within 8 - 15 visits with occasional follow-up visits after that.
Psycho-educational & Diagnostic Evaluations
Evaluations help to identify skills and challenges or to decide on a formal diagnosis. Psychological Assessments are administered individually and combined with results from questionnaires (from clients, parents, and teachers) to create recommendations for home, work or school. Dr. Jaquess uses assessments for cognitive abilities, educational achievement, behavior, emotions, social skills, and adaptive functioning. When autism is a question, he may use the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (ADOS).
